I like podcasts. Here are some of the best podcasts I’ve listened to recently about women in endurance sports.
“The Representation Cycling Needs Now: How Black Girls Do Bike is Changing Cycling” // Better with Bikes (July 3, 2019)
I was energized and moved by this podcast. I first listed to this podcast last summer, and it’s stuck with me since.
“How Kara Goucher Stood Up to Running’s Goliath” // Outside Podcast (May 27, 2020)
I thought I knew Kara’s story. I did not. It was powerful to hear Kara share what she experienced as a professional runner when her son was born.
“Running While Black: A Conversation Around Race With Alison Desir” // Keeping Track (May 30, 2020)
I really appreciated this honest, authentic and direct conversation about running and race with Alison Desir.
“Ladia Albertson-Junkans – Happy Heavenly Birthday, Gabe!” // C Tolle Run (June 11, 2020)
Ladia Albertson-Junkans and Carrie Tollefson remember the indomitable Gabe Grunewald.
“Enjoy the Ride – Lael Wilcox & Rue Kaladyte” // Girls Gone Gravel (April 28, 2020)
Lael Wilcox is an amazing long distance biker and engaging storyteller. This podcast is a nice introduction to Lael, her partner/photographer Rue, and GRIT — a program that introduces girls to bikepacking.
“Lisa Morman and Alex Morgan of 10Ironwomen” // Social Sport (May 18, 2020)
A story of ten women supporting one another in their quest to complete their first Ironman triathlon. A model worth replicating.
“The Mirnavator” // REI (September 14, 2017)
